PCPFLAREINVSetReusePolyCoeffs#

Controls whether PCPFLAREINV reuses its stored polynomial coefficients on the next setup

Synopsis#

Logically Collective

Input Parameters#

  • pc - the PCPFLAREINV preconditioner context

  • flg - PETSC_TRUE to skip recomputing the polynomial coefficients on setup when the nonzero pattern is unchanged

Options Database Key#

  • -pc_pflareinv_reuse_poly_coeffs (true|false) - skip recomputing the polynomial coefficients during setup when the matrix has the same nonzero pattern; defaults to false

Note#

This is useful when repeatedly setting up the preconditioner for matrices that share a nonzero pattern but have changed values, since computing the polynomial coefficients (for example the Arnoldi or Newton coefficients) requires parallel reductions that reuse then avoids. Only enable it when the stored coefficients remain a good approximation for the new matrix, as reusing stale coefficients can degrade convergence.
