MATHTOOL#
“htool” - A matrix type for hierarchical matrices using the Htool package. Use ./configure --download-htool to install PETSc to use Htool.

Note#
Sequential MAT_FACTOR_LU and MAT_FACTOR_CHOLESKY factorizations are available with MATSOLVERHTOOL. A MAT_FACTOR_CHOLESKY
factorization uses the upper triangular part of the matrix. It is a true Cholesky factorization, unless the matrix is flagged
as not symmetric positive definite with MatSetOption() and MAT_SPD set to PETSC_FALSE, or is complex symmetric and not
flagged with MAT_HERMITIAN. In these cases, an \(LDL^T\) factorization with Bunch-Kaufman pivoting within dense diagonal blocks is
computed, with \(L^T\) replaced by \(L^H\) for a matrix flagged with MAT_HERMITIAN.
